CATL Obtains China’s First National Standard Certification for Energy Storage Systems

On June 12, CATL's 5MWh EnerD liquid-cooling energy storage system was granted the first Chinese product certificate for energy storage systems issued by the China Quality Certification Center (CQC) during the Shanghai SNEC, one of the biggest international trade shows for PV and energy storage.

With the rapid development of the energy storage industry, the national standard Technical Specification for Prefabricated Cabin Type Lithium-Ion Battery Energy Storage System (GB/T 44026 - 2024) was officially released last year as the first national technical specification in this field. A prefabricated cabin lithium-ion battery energy storage system integrates core components such as battery packs, BMS, an energy storage converter, a cooling system, and a fire protection system into a standardized and movable prefabricated cabin. Through modular design and prefabrication at factories, it can achieve rapid deployment, flexible expansion, and efficient operation and maintenance.


This national standard puts forward requirements closer to the actual application scenarios in terms of the functions, design, packaging, transportation, and storage of the energy storage system. This will greatly promote the standardized development of energy storage integration equipment and ensure the safe and efficient operation of energy storage projects in actual application scenarios.


The issuance of this industry first national standard certification indicates that CATL's energy storage products are leading domestically in terms of safety, environmental adaptability, and thermal runaway risk control, and can provide a safe and reliable example for the standardized development of the energy storage industry.
