BAIC BJEV and CATL jointly held a kick-off meeting for cooperation in the application of Shenxing superfast charging batteries on October 17. Dai Kangwei, general manager of BAIC BJEV, Gao Jian, deputy general manager of BAIC BJEV, Wu Kai, chief scientist of CATL, and Gao Huan, CTO of CATL's China E-car business, attended the meeting. 

During the kick-off meeting, the two parties announced that Arcfox, a premium intelligent EV brand of BAIC BJEV, will be equipped with Shenxing superfast charging batteries, ushering in the era of superfast charging of new energy vehicles. At the same time, the two parties will build a closer strategic partnership in the field of EV batteries. By enhancing cooperation in products and technologies and exploring business models, both parties will comprehensively tackle technical challenges including heating during superfast charging, battery pack-level superfast charging, and the combining of long range and light weight, making Shenxing superfast charging batteries available to ordinary users. 

Yuan Wenjing, the president assistant of BAIC Research Institute and director of the Center of Battery, Motor and Electric Control, said that the battery system is a key component of EVs. BAIC BJEV insists on deepening cooperation with CATL, a global leader in new energy innovative technologies, and is committed to building cost-effective models with real strength and great quality, and creating an ultimate experience of comfort, ease and assurance for users. 

Gao Huan, CTO of CATL's China E-car business, said that BAIC and CATL are close partners with deepening platform cooperation. The two parties will work together to promote the sustainable development of EV battery technology, continuously upgrade products and make breakthroughs, taking the lead in the era of superfast charging through technology innovations.
